Welcome to Riding Reba: A Corgi-Mix’s Adventures in CT!

Reba is a Corgi-Mix our family adopted in October of 2019. She had been brought up from Georgia for the adoption event, and we picked her out on the second day (although how she was still there at that point is beyond us). Shortly afterwards it was discovered that she had heart and severe lung damage due to heartworms she had prior to being rescued. At one point she was very close to going into heart failure, but thanks to her cardiologist, her meds, and a low-sodium diet, she’s no longer in danger of that happening.

Reba is supposed to be low-activity due to breathing problems because of her bad lungs. Despite this, Reba loves going on car rides and exploring new places! We do make sure she doesn’t overdo it, because sometimes she doesn’t know her own limits.

This blog will feature dog-friendly places all across Connecticut that Reba has visited and would recommend to her dog friends.

This is a picture of Reba, right after we brought her home from the adoption event (yes, she even came with a sweater)!

Reba and I are looking forward to sharing our adventures with you! If you have any suggestions of dog-friendly places in Connecticut we should visit, leave a comment and let us know! We’re always looking for new places to check out.
